Not quite ready for au naturale? Don’t worry, Dr. Lefty has been providing cosmetic neuromodulators (Daxxify, Botox, etc) and dermal fillers for over 10 years.
We offer different types of Botulinum toxin A (Botox®, Xeomin®, Jeuveau®) to address the needs of our patients.
What is Botox?
Botox is the brand name for a drug called “botulinum toxin type A.” Botulinum toxin A is a non-surgical treatment that removes wrinkles and prevents them from forming for several months. It works by weakening the underlying muscles of the targeted area and temporarily relaxes facial muscles and softens deep lines between the eyebrows and around the eyes. Botulinum toxin A injections typically take less than 30 minutes to treat multiple areas.
Botulinum toxin A injections have also been found safe and effective in preventing migraines, TMJ disorder, treating chronic pain, and reducing excessive underarm sweating. It is also a treatment for relieving symptoms of dystonia and spasticity in patients with neurological disorders. The FDA has approved Botulinum toxin A for several conditions.
All Botulinum toxin A cosmetics are only approved to be administered by a doctor or nurse. Dr. Lefty has taken her Botulinum toxin A to the next level by continuing education and cadaver muscle dissections to provide injections you can trust will accomplish your goals.

How is the Procedure Done?
Botulinum toxin A is typically injected into the skin using an ultra-fine needle. It works by preventing signals from the nerves from reaching muscles. You may feel some pain, burning, or numbness at the injection site that usually lasts only a few seconds. Normal reactions to injections can cause bruising immediately at the injection site or, in rare cases, bleeding.
Injections can be uncomfortable when injected and for one day afterward.
How Long Does the effect of the Botulinum toxin A Shot Last?
Our office has enthusiastically transitioned to Daxxify as our primary botulinum toxin brand due to its significant advantages, most notably its remarkably longer duration of effect compared to traditional neuromodulators. While other toxins typically last 3-4 months, Daxxify consistently provides results for up to 6 months, and in some patients, even longer. This extended longevity means fewer office visits for our patients, offering greater convenience and a more consistent, sustained aesthetic improvement. Furthermore, Daxxify’s unique peptide-based formulation, free from human or animal byproducts, may also contribute to a faster onset of action and reduced risk of immunogenicity, making it an excellent choice for a wider range of patients seeking long-lasting, natural-looking wrinkle reduction.
How Long Does it Take to Recover from the Injections?
There can be some redness and bruising at the site of the injections. It typically takes 3-7 days for it to take effect, though some people experience Daxxify working within 24 hours.
What are the Side Effects of Injections?
Daxxify is generally safe, but every treatment is different. Botulinum toxin A injections may cause some side effects that can last for a few days or up to about a week.
Generally, these side effects are temporary and minor, including:
- Bruising at the site of injection
- Minor Swelling around lips or eyelids
- Difficulty swallowing or speaking
- Headache

Some people are not eligible, and they include:
- Allergies to Botulinum Toxin Type A
- Infection at the injection site
- Bleeding disorders or taking blood-thinning medication
- Botulinum toxin A and other cosmetic procedures are not for pregnant women.
